Riverside DataManager - Chromebook Testing
As of the 2025-2026 School year, Riverside Insights retired their Chrome App and replaced it with a new Android version.
- In practice, this Android version takes much longer to load and get working on Student Chromebooks, even set to force-installed by the district.
- There is a web-based, temporary workaround to be used until Riverside Insights develops a full PWA replacement.
The web-based workaround should be pre-installed on all PSD-managed Chromebooks. It can be launched at the login screen as a 'kiosk app':
The site loads to look like below:

It's advised to use this workaround over the Android app at this point in time.
Note: The above web-based method is preferred.
The Play Store (Android) method instructions are below as a fall back option.
If the above method isn't working, or testing must be conducted via the Android app, here are instructions for accessing that.
1. The Student must first be signed into the Chromebook.
2. After signing in, they will need to launch the Google 'Play Store' app.
Note: Sometimes the Play Store app can take a few minutes to load and show up. This is especially true if the Chromebook was recently power washed.

3. The Riverside DataManager app should show as an option here and automatically start downloading. If it does not download automatically, double-click on the app and install when prompted. After installing, it can be launched this way.
Note: Similar to above, the Riverside DataManager Play Store app can sometimes take up to a few minutes (or in some cases, longer) to show.
