How To: Use Google ChromeOS Content Transfer Tool
The content transfer tool will guide High School Seniors who want to migrate their data through an updated data transfer process. This will allow them to take their Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail content to a Gmail account of their choice.
- The tool will be available to High School Seniors only.
- The tool will be available from the beginning of May to the end of July.
- The Chromebook may need to be updated in order to see the Content Transfer Tool.
Note: The Chromebook must be on ChromeOS v132 or higher. To check for updates: Updating a Chromebook
1. After logging into a Chromebook on ChromeOS v132 or higher, as a High School Senior, you should see a 'Content Transfer' icon now in the ChromeOS dock as shown below:

2. At the next screen, click 'Get Started'

3. Enter a personal email address for the destination account.
You will need to verify this email by entering a code that is sent to it.
After verifying, click Done - it should initiate the data transfer process.

4. After the process has been initiated, you should receive a confirmation email:

Note: An alternative way to get to the transfer tool is:
1. Click on the clock in the bottom-right corner
2. Click the Settings gear
3. In Settings, in the left-hand column, click on 'Accounts'
4. Scroll down a little bit and you should see Content Transfer tool at the bottom as shown below:
